Reseal Tumbled Stone

Most natural stone tiles require sealing.


Tumbled stone is a material used as tile for floors and walls. The tumbled stone tiles add a natural look and beauty to any home. The downside to tumbled stone tile is it must be sealed periodically to ensure the stone remains waterproof and does not become stained. Resealing the tumbled stone is an easy process that you can do yourself without having to spend hundreds on a professional. With the right supplies and directions you can quickly seal a tumbled stone tile and ensure that the stone remains waterproof and able to resist staining.


Instructions


1. Clean the tumbled stone tile with the brush to remove any loose dust or debris. If the tile is on the floor, use the vacuum cleaner to easily remove any dust and debris.


2. Clean the tumbled stone tile with a tile cleaner or a vinegar and warm water mixture. Scrub the surface with the rag to remove any oils on the tile. If you are using the vinegar and warm water mixture, use 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water.


3. Fill the pump sprayer with the tile sealer. Pump the sprayer to add pressure to it.


4. Spray the tumbled stone tile with the tile sealer at an even consistency. The tile sealer will appear milky-white in appearance; do not be alarmed, it will turn clear when it dries. Let the sealer dry for at least 48 hours before walking or exposing it to moisture.
