List Of Pageant Talents

Pageant talent is an important part of the competition.

When competing in a pageant, it's important to be unique. Your talent can set you apart from your competition. Most talents are a good choice, as long as it's pageant material and you're good at it. Common pageant talents include dancing, singing, cheerleading and baton twirling.

Dancing

Besides singing, dancing is probably the second most popular talent in pageants. "My Strongest Suite" and "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" are the two most popular songs to dance to in the talent portion of a pageant. Pair your song with a wardrobe that suits the song and the routine, and make sure your little number isn't too sexy for the more conservative pageant judges.

Singing

Singing is a very common pageant talent, so it's important you choose a song that suits your voice. It should be memorable to the audience and to the judges. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Dream a Little Dream of Me" are two of the most common pageant songs. If you're looking to try something different, choose a song that not only suits your voice, but hasn't been overdone. Another twist is to take a classic song and change it (for example, sing a show tune as a country song or a rock song).

Cheerleading

Though it may be a common pageant talent, it's one that not every beauty contestant can do. A good cheerleading routine will definitely outshine the rest of the talent while wowing the judges and the crowd. A cheerleading routine is a combination of expert dance and gymnastics and makes for an unforgettable routine.

Baton Twirling

Baton twirling may be a classic beauty pageant talent, but it's still a showstopper. Traditional baton-twirling moves include catching the baton behind your back and doing several moves while spinning or leaping. Many contestants twirl their batons while learning to move other parts of their bodies. The faster the twirl, the more awed the audience will be.
