Say A Word Of Appreciation To An Employee For His Performance

Recognize your employees for a job well done.

While it is important for managers to counsel employees who are doing a poor job, it is just as important to recognize the star performers on the team. One of the biggest complaints by employees is that they only get the attention of their bosses when they do something wrong, so taking the time to thank your workers for a job well done is an excellent way to motivate the entire workforce.

Instructions

1. Thank the employee in person by going to his desk and giving a sincere thank-you for a job well done. It is important to personally thank your star workers.

2. Complete an award certificate for your star workers. Blank certificates can be purchased at office supply stores, and managers can customize the certificates with the name of the employee and the nature of the award.

3. Call a quick meeting of your entire department and present the award to your employee. It is important for a good employee to get the recognition of her peers as well as the boss.

4. Write a handwritten thank-you note to the employee, or draft a letter telling the worker what a great job he is doing.
