Set Up Auto Spray Guns

Auto spray guns are also great for air-brush artwork.

Auto spray guns are used to paint cars, houses and any other projects that require a smooth spray paint job. Air is propelled from an air compressor, mixed with paint and forced through a nozzle to create an even spray to paint your project. Adjustments can be made to determine the ratio of paint and air to enable an even spray from the gun. These adjustments include the fluid control, fan control and air-adjustment valve.

Instructions

1. Set the fluid control knob on the auto spray gun to the fully open position. Unscrew the fluid control screw almost completely. Pull the trigger back to the open position. Screw the fluid control screw back in until the screw reaches the back of the trigger.

2. Set the fan control. Turn the fan control knob to the left to open the fan or to the right to close it. The fan control knob is located on the side of the auto spray gun.

3. Adjust the air-adjustment valve. Turn the air adjustment valve to regulate the amount of air coming from the air compressor. Turn the valve left to open it and right to shut the valve. The air compressor valve is found on the handle of the auto spray gun. Open the valve completely during set up.

4. Connect the air compressor to the auto spray gun. Pull back on the nozzle of the air compressor hose and insert the hose onto the auto spray gun fitting. Release your hand from the nozzle to secure the hose in place.

5. Fill the fluid cup with your desired choice of paint. Unscrew the cap to the fluid cup and slowly pour in the paint. Tightly screw the cap back on the fluid cup.
