Sell A Violin At Auction

Sell a Violin at Auction

Violins along with other instruments traditionally collect dust for many years after a person or child decides to stop playing it. Violins can get you a lot of money if sold through a traditional or online auction. Before you sell a violin at an auction, you need to get ready in order to get the most money.

Instructions

1. Check inside of the violin for the name of the manufacturer. Finding out the name of the manufacturer can allow you to make a more detailed description.

2. Look for any scratches or marks on the violin. Wear and tear on a violin is normal and will affect the price that you receive in the auction.

3. Take it to a professional for an appraisal. You can include the appraisal along with the violin when you sell it.

4. Use all of the information that you collected to create a description of the violin. Remember to put the size of the violin, the condition and manufacturer's name into the description. If you are including any accessories, mention them as well.

5. Take several pictures of the violin. Photograph the violin from different angles. Include three different photos: one with the case, a front and a rear view.

6. Submit the violin to an online auction like eBay. Use the auction site to sell your new or used violin.
