Remove Paint Fumes

Recently painted walls, ceilings or furniture can exude offensive and often dangerous fumes. Without adequate ventilation, it can be difficult to clean the air and remove the paint fumes from your home or business. Cleaning the air of these strong odors can also be challenging without the proper supplies. Employ common household items with proper technique to successfully and cost-effectively remove paint fumes.

Instructions

1. Open all windows and doors in order to better ventilate the area where paint fumes have accumulated.

2. Plug in a fan and place it so that it is blowing out toward a door or window. The fan will suck in paint fume-tainted air and exhaust it to the outdoors.

3. Pour white vinegar in several bowls and place them throughout the areas affected by paint fumes. After several hours, the vinegar will have helped to neutralize the fumes and reduce the odor.

4. Cut an onion in half and place the pieces in a room with paint fumes. Compounds in the onion will neutralize the paint fumes and reduce or eliminate odors.
