Mars Red is an auto paint color found on certain vehicles. One auto maker that uses Mars Red is Mercedes. If you have a Mars Red auto with a scratch, you can mend the scratch with paint touch up pens. It is important to match the Mars Red of the auto with the Mars Red offered by touch up pen makers. In addition, the area needs to be cleaned prior to adding the paint.
Instructions
1. Wet a chamois cloth with wax remover and scrub down the scratched area. Let the wax remover dry and wet another cloth with the degreaser. Wipe the scratch area down with the degreaser. Wash the area after applying the cleaners to remove any chemical residue from the products.
2. Shake the Mars Red touch up paint pen. Press the tip of the pen to one end of the scratch and slowly move the pen down the length of the scratch. Let the paint dry. Inspect to see if a second coat is needed.
3. Apply the second coat to the scratch with the Mars Red pen. Let the paint dry.
4. Shake the clear coat pen and place the tip on one end of the scratch. Move the tip up the length of the scratch to restore the luster of the Mars Red paint.
