Yell Like Al Pacino

Yell Like Al Pacino

There is no doubt that Al Pacino is one of the finest actors we have in the world. But, he also has a tendency to suddenly yell when playing a scene. Whether he's screaming "Attica, Attica," or "I'm just getting warmed up," or "Hua!" you've got to love it when Al Pacino yells. So next time you find yourself in a tension filled, highly dramatic moment, here is yell like Al Pacino. "Just when I'm out, they pull me back in!"

Instructions

1. Become intensely quiet. It is always way more effective to be quiet than it is to continuously rouse someone with your verbal massacre. If you notice, Pacino likes to go small before he goes big. So keep the conversation soft but intense. This will keep the tension in the moment.

2. Feel your gut. Obviously not literally, because that might look a little strange. Be emotional. Feel the slow burning fire within. Live with that for a moment and let it build.

3. Drop the register of your voice so that it is solely dependant on the base of your vocal chords. Like when you've been at a football game and yelling too loud and you lose your voice, there's only a raspy timbre left. That's where Pacino yells from. Find that place in your voice.

4. Explode with anger. Snarl, show teeth, burn into the other person with the intensity of your eyes as you explode into your Pacino yell. Repeat after me, "You're out of order! You're out of order! The whole trial is out of order! They're out of order!" Congratulations, you have just learned yell like Al Pacino. Now go scare the heck out of your kids.
