Spray guns have many applications, such as applying paint to a house or a car. A spray gun, depending on the model, can use an air hose or is powered by an electrical cord, which means you will need to know how each type of tool is used. However, you will also need to obtain the equipment and accessories for the type of spray gun that you will be using. This can include an automotive sprayer or a residential paint sprayer.
Instructions
Automotive Sprayer
1. Unscrew the reservoir from the spray gun. Pour the paint you are going to use into the reservoir. Screw the reservoir back onto the spray gun.
2. Connect the end of the air hose to the fitting on the end of the spray gun. Connect the other end of the air hose to the fitting on the air compressor.
3. Place a scrap piece of metal on the ground or on a table. Pull the trigger on the spray gun to apply paint to the metal.
Residential Paint Sprayer
4. Remove the cup or reservoir from the paint sprayer by turning it counterclockwise or to the left.
5. Pour the paint into the reservoir and reattach it to the paint sprayer.
6. Plug one end of the electrical cord into the extension cord. Plug the other end of the extension cord into an electrical outlet.
7. Set a scrap piece of wood on the ground. Pull the trigger, on the paint sprayer, to apply paint onto the wood.
