Remove Sparkle Effect In Ms Word

Text Effects allowed users to spice up their documents.

Microsoft Word 2003 included a feature called "Text Effects." Text Effects allowed you to add an effect, such as the "sparkle effect" or the "shimmer effect," to your text. Microsoft decided to discontinue Text Effects when it released Microsoft Word 2007, describing the Text Effects feature as a "low use feature that is no longer useful in Web site design." Fortunately, Microsoft Word 2007 included an option to remove these effects from older Word documents opened in Microsoft Word 2007.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Word.

2. Select the text that has the sparkle effect you wish to remove. To select the text, hold down the right mouse button and drag the cursor over the text.

3. Click on the "Home" tab located at the top of Microsoft Word.

4. Click on the "Clear Formatting" icon next to the "Shrink Font" icon. The "Clear Formatting" icon is an eraser next to a piece of paper with the letter "a" on it.
