Write Elegant Thankyou Cards

A thank you card is generally always appreciated.

A thank-you card is necessary for a large number of occasions. For example, after you receive a gift, it is customary to send a thank-you card. However, there are other times when it would be appropriate, such as if someone writes a letter of recommendation for you, helps you move or simply attends your dinner party. If you can learn to write elegant thank-you cards, then you will be able to provide adequate and gracious thanks for virtually any occasion.

Instructions

1. Hand write the thank-you card. This makes the card more personal. You can purchase blank thank-you cards or just use a general blank card.

2. Greet the person kindly, using a greeting such as "Dear" or "Hello." Use the name that you would normally call the person.

3. Thank the person first off for whatever item or service they provided for you. This should be the very first thing you say in your thank-you card. An example would be "Thank you so much for attending the fundraiser in March." If you're thanking the person for money, say things like "Thank you for being so generous" or "Thank you for the gift." It's not polite to mention money directly.

4. Explain to the person how you have been using or why you enjoyed what you're thanking them for. For example, if they gave you a present, explain how you've been using and enjoying the present. If they offered you some service, such as helping you move, explain how helpful that was for you.

5. Say something nice about the person from the past and then mention something about the future. For example, you might say something like "I so enjoyed our last visit, and I hope that we can get together again soon."

6. Finish your thank-you card politely and warmly. Your final thought should be again thanking the person for what they have given you or done for you. Then, sign the card with a closing, such as "Love" or "Kind Regards" and include your name.
