Ventilate An Art Studio

Ventilating an art studio is very important so that you do not breathe in chemical fumes that can be very dangerous for the respiratory system. These dangerous chemicals can effect your lungs, your breathing passages and most of all your general health. Ventilating an art studio is very important if you are painting for a short or long period of time.

Instructions

1. Make sure all of the windows in your studio are open a little bit or fully depending on the weather. If it is very cold where you live, then you will open the windows a little more than a crack. If it is hot where you live, then you will open them fully.

2. Open doors everywhere you can. If you have your art studio in a certain area of your house, then you might want to open every door possible. It is very important for ventilating an art studio.

3. Use the dilution method to dilute fumes with clean air. Use a large fan to recirculate air, and then remove the contaminated air outside. Use this method only for art materials that are not that toxic.

4. Create a local exhaust ventilation system in your studio. Dangerous exhaust fumes go through a hood and filter system before being discharged. Many artists need may need this more extensive system if their art form uses many chemicals, like photography development, welding or silk screen printing.

5. Leave the art studio if you ever feel overwhelmed by the fumes. If you ever feel dizzy, then you should get outside and get some fresh air as soon as possible.
