Things To Get In Las Vegas

Make the most out of your trip to Vegas.

Whether your trip to Las Vegas is a whirlwind weekend visit or a week-long vacation, there are certain things you need to get when you go to Las Vegas to make your stay all the more memorable. Plan ahead so you know what types of activities you are interested in doing, since Vegas has a variety of things to choose from for adults and families.

Hotel on the Strip

Getting a hotel room on the Vegas strip is an ideal way to be right where the action is. By staying in one of the many hotels on the strip, you have access to casinos, shows, restaurants and shopping stores by foot, which saves you money on cab or transportation fare. Check the various hotels for the best rates; if you go to Vegas for the weekend, hotel rates are higher than when you go mid-week.

Casino Chips

If you plan on stopping into the casinos to play some card games while you are in Vegas, get some casino chips. The chips are what you need to participate in the games, as they serve as money. Many of the casinos have ATMs inside so you can take out cash and trade in the cash for chips. Chips from various hotel casinos also make memorable items to take home and put in a scrapbook.

Show Tickets

Many people go to Las Vegas to see a show. Magic shows, circus performances, concerts and comedy shows are some of the main evening attractions Vegas has to offer. Planning ahead for show tickets is ideal to getting in, and if you want to have good seats. However, while you are in Vegas you can find last-minute tickets on sale, sometimes at a discounted rate.

Spa Treatment

Girls and guys who go to Vegas may want to relax and unwind. Getting spa treatments is an effective way to be pampered and enjoy some down time. Most of the large resorts in Vegas have luxury spas where guests can book appointments for pedicures, manicures, massages and body wraps. Get one of these -- or multiple -- spa treatments for some ultimate R&R.

Gondola Rides

If you have never been on a Vegas gondola ride, this is something you should get during your stay. On a gondola ride, the gondolier sings to you as you row through the manufactured waters of the Venetian Hotel, in an Italian-inspired atmosphere. You see some of the resort stores along the way, and give your feet a rest from all the walking, too.

Souvenirs

Bring home souvenirs from Vegas. Each hotel on the strip has a theme, and many people collect souvenirs from the various hotels to remember them. Dice piggy banks, decks of cards, T-shirts, hats, keychains and beverage cups are some souvenirs to take home with you. Show souvenirs are also available, such as concert shirts and CDs.
