The most common source of spilled wax is melted candles.
Wax is a tricky substance that often accidentally ends up in the wrong places. Fortunately, there is a way to remove wax with simple cleaning materials and a basic knowledge of wax and its properties. White wax is easier to remove, as some colored waxes may have dyes that seep into the plastic's grooves.
Instructions
1. Freeze the excess wax. Place the plastic object in the freezer, or place some ice in a bag and put the ice over the wax. Remove the source of cold when the wax has solidified.
2. Peel off the wax. Pull at the frozen wax with your fingernails, or chip it off with a knife. Be careful not to scratch the plastic beneath the wax.
3. Place some paper towels or brown paper over the remaining wax.
4. Heat the bottom of a spoon with the flame from a lighter or match.
5. Rub the heated spoon over the wax patch through the paper towel or brown paper. The paper will darken in the areas where it's soaking up the wax. Repeat this process until you clear up the wax. Shift the paper, or use a new sheet and reheat the spoon periodically.
