Slow Dance

Slow Dance

When a slow song comes on at a dance, you have two options, you can go sit down or slow dance with a partner. For the sake of having a good time, it is best to slow dance with a partner. This way, you and one other person get in on the fun. Even if you have never slow danced in your life, you can learn by following these steps.

Instructions

1. Practice your moves with a friend or family member before venturing out in public.

2. Get into position. The traditional position for slow dancing is to face one another. The female partner places her arms on the shoulders of the male partner. The male partner in return places his hands on his female partner's hips.

3. Sway back and forth to the music. The man is the leader during a dance. Gently guide your partner on time to the music.

4. Go to a dance or club and find a partner. Take a look around the room and see who is not partnered up. These are the people you have to choose from.

5. Approach someone and ask them if they would like to dance. There are many ways to do this, however, the most effective is also the most simple. A simple, 'would you like to dance?' will suffice in this situation.

6. Lead your partner onto the dance floor. You may do this arm in arm or simply by walking together.

7. Slow dance, just like you practiced.

8. When the song is over, thank your partner for the dance. At this time it is customary to excuse yourself and get back to your friends. If you had a wonderful time, you may invite your partner to join you for drinks or more talking.
