Write Lowercase Letters "A" Through "G" In Calligraphy

Calligraphy means "beautiful handwriting" and is considered an art form. There are different forms of calligraphy letters and each form is made by holding the pen in different positions. The easy form to learn first is called Italic Minuscules and it'll be easier to start with the letters "a" through "g."

Instructions

1. Start with the letter "a." Using a calligraphy pen, place the tip on the paper. Pull the pen down and around in a half circle, then down to make a small tail. It should look like a letter "u." Next place the pen where you started the "u" and pull it across to right, in a small arch to finish the "a."

2. Make the "b" next. Place the pen on the paper, pull down, then make a small arch. It should look like a small "h." Put the pen at the bottom of the line you made first, and pull it across to close the "b." Then put the pen at the top of the first line you made and pull it to the right to make a small backward tail.

3. Write the "c" next. Put the pen on the paper, pull it down and to the right to make a small hook. Place the pen where you started the hook and pull it to the right to finish the "c."

4. Follow with "d" next. Place the pen on the paper and pull it down and around to the right. It should look like a "u" without the tail. Next put the pen where you started and pull it to the right, in a little arch, to close it. It should look like an "o." Place the pen above the "o," on the right side, and pull down, making sure to cure the tail to the right. Put the pen at the top of the line and pull to the right, making a small arch.

5. Write the letter "e." Put the pen on the page and pull it to the right, making a small curve. Place the pen where you started and make a upward curve to finish the "e."

6. Complete the letter "f" next. Put the pen on the paper, pull down and make a short curve. Pick up the pen, place it back at the same place you finished the curve and pull it to the left, making a short tail. Put the pen at the top of the line you made, pull it to the right, making a small curve. Place the pen to the left of the line, about halfway down, and pull to the left to finish the "f."

7. Make the letter "g." Put the pen on the paper and pull it to the right, making a curve, then pull it down. It should look like a "u" with a long tail. Pick the pen up, put it back down in the place you picked it up and pull it to the left, making a small tail. Put the pen back where you started the letter and pull it in a small curve to the right, to finish the "g."
