Instructions
1. Insert batteries into the electronic edge finder. The type of battery will vary depending on the model, but chances are you will need either double A or tripple A batteries.
2. Insert the electronic edge finder into a chuck or collet. Chucks and collets are tools used to grip such items as electonic ede finders and hold them in place. The electronic edge finder will need to be inserted into the chuck or collet at the shaft. Since sizes of electronic edge finders vary, the size of the chuck or collet will need to be specific to your electronic edge finder. Most electronic edge finders require a half inch chuck or collet.
3. Rotate the electronic edge finder to find the edge. You can do this by lightly touching a machine table to the electronic edge finder. This will make the edge finder turn slightly until the head touches your work piece. Generally it will get within .005 inches. When it does this, your edge finder will either light up or make an audio click of some sort.
4. Disconnect the edge finder by removing it from the work piece. This can be done by removing the machine table.
5. Push the machine table back to the work piece lightly, and the edge finder should read zero, meaning the edge has been located.
