Use Acrylic Paint On Rubber Stamps

You can use rubber stamps on canvas with acrylic paint.

Rubber stamps are typically used to stamp ink onto paper, but they can be used in other ways as well. For example, you can use rubber stamps while painting a picture to add interesting realistic details. With the following technique, rubber stamps can be used to apply acrylic paint to a canvas just the way you would apply ink to paper.

Instructions

1. Squeeze or pour acrylic paint into a bowl to a depth of about 1/4 inch. Use the same type of acrylic paint that you would use when painting a picture.

2. Place your canvas on a flat surface. This will enable you to apply the acrylic paint with a stamp, without drips.

3. Dip a rubber stamp into the paint so that only the rubber portion of the stamp is covered. Tap any excess paint back into the bowl.

4. Press the rubber stamp straight down onto the canvas, then lift it straight up again. This will prevent the paint from smudging.

5. Continue painting the picture using your brushes.
